The DERHE project deepens collaboration with industry through “Lean Management” training at Macaferri Balkans.
Within the framework of the international DERHE project, a group of young professionals, managerial staff representatives, and partners, led by the renowned expert Prof. Ignace Martens, conducted a visit to the premises of Macaferri Balkans — one of the most recognized names in civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering solutions, with a global presence.
The focus of the visit was an intensive and practical training on “Lean Management,” a modern managerial philosophy aimed at creating more value for the customer by eliminating waste and continuously improving how a company operates.
In a professional and welcoming environment, participants had the opportunity to see firsthand how this methodology is practically applied within a company. The training, combined with a tour of the production and management lines at Macaferri Balkans, served as a practical example of how Lean principles can be implemented in the Albanian and regional industrial context to enhance business competitiveness and efficiency.
This activity was organized by the Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIT), with the participation of the Secretary General of DHTIT, Ms. Albana Laknori, and the Director of the Projects Department, Ms. Aris Tasho in close collaboration with the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tirana, initiated by Prof. Perseta Grabova and Prof. Elona Pojani.
This training represents another concrete step towards achieving the goals of the DERHE project, which aims to link higher education with the real needs of the labor market and strengthen capacities for sustainable development and innovation in the economy.
