CCIT signs cooperation agreement with the Albania-Turkey Chamber of Commerce and Industry
On Monday, March 11, 2024, Chairman of CCIT, Nikolin Jaka, signed a landmark cooperation agreement with Mr. Bilal Kara, head of the Albania-Turkey Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATTSO). This significant memorandum aims to bolster collaboration across key sectors, fostering investment attraction and propelling joint projects and initiatives.
Highlighting the enduring bonds between Albania and Turkey, Chairman Jaka emphasized the shared goal of reducing the trade deficit. “We have longstanding cooperation with Turkey. The opportunities for collaboration to bridge the trade deficit gap are immense,” stated Mr. Jaka. “Our strategy includes encouraging Turkish investors to engage in Albania’s production sectors and leveraging our local producers to bolster export figures.”
Mr. Bilal Kara underscored the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation, noting the presence of approximately 850 Turkish companies in Albania, employing over 15,000 individuals. “Albania offers vast opportunities, and strengthening bilateral relations will streamline bureaucratic processes, unlocking the full potential of both nations,” commented Mr. Kara. He emphasized energy, construction, and banking as key areas of interest for collaboration.
Accompanying Mr. Kara were esteemed delegates including Mrs. Pelin Ozdemir, trade advisor of Turkey in Albania, Mr. Ertan Gungor, director of ATTSO, along with board members Mrs. Teuta Ustundag and Mr. Altin Kodra.
