TAX PROCEDURES IN THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this training is to introduce the participants with key parts of the legislation on Tax Procedures in Albania, the implementation in practice related to the problems that businesses most often encounter in their activity.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The program will be based on law no. 9920, dated 19.05.2008 “On Tax Procedures in the Republic of Albania”, updated, describing especially  key points that businesses face today, such as:

the rights and obligations of the taxpayer

tax assessment and methods of executing  it;

tax audit, clarifying roles, their types, conclusions and suggestions of practice.

WHO ARE THE BENEFICIARIES

Beneficiaries of the training will be all employees belonging to the staff of the finance department responsible for fiscal reporting and preparation of financial statements 3.

METHODOLOGY

Presentation of the theoretical side of the legislation

Implement legislation through the discussion of concrete cases in practice

Day 1.

Presentation of the general framework of tax procedures in Albania. The rights and obligations of the taxpayer

Specific determinations regarding the nature of taxpayers starting from their registration, changes in registration and deregistration

Keeping tax documentation, according to legal provisions:

-Warehouse in business premises

-Transportation

-Documentation of transactions

 

Tax assessment and its notification

Tax assessment methods

Tax Control, its role in the fiscal system

Types of controls

Structures charged to control

Group discussions on practice cases for the above points.

Lecturer: Mirjeta Emini

Mirjeta is the head of the Tax department. She joined PwC after 16 years of experience with KPMG and Boga & Associates.

Mirjeta has a consolidated experience of tax legislation in Albania and Kosovo as well as national and international accounting standards, making her a good advisor to domestic and foreign clients in both Albania and Kosovo.

Mirjeta has worked with international investors in the manufacturing industry in Albania and Kosovo. She has also been involved in various projects by providing fiscal consultancy on issues related to corporate taxes, tax procedures, VAT, customs and other direct and indirect taxes.

It has also provided accounting, tax and tax consulting services as well as full support to various companies during VAT refund procedures, tax audits and litigation.
