Balkanet project
BALKANET project staff of CCI Tirana composed by Mrs. Viola Xhindi – Head of Projects Department, Mr. Arbi Hoxha – BALKANET Project Coordinator and Ms. Elida Boshnjaku – Project Technical Staff attended the 3 Day Events in the framework of AGRA 2020 and activities such as study visit and B2B meetings, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, during 19th-21st of February 2020.
In the first day event, CCIT project staff together with Bulgarian partners from CCI Vratsa and the ARED Vratsa were part of “The International Agricultural Exhibition”, in a dedicated common stand for BALKANET project. To the visitors were presented the project aim, activities and results achieved and expected ones. Lots of interest on the project was shown by the various visitors.
After the exhibition, according to the agenda, CCIT project staff together with CCI Vratsa one proceeded with a visit to the famous Bessa Valley winery, situated in Ognianovo village in Bulgaria. The visit was hosted by the Manager of the winery who introduced to all the company activity in terms of vines, technology, personnel, production and trade. The visit was followed with interesting conversation with the participants and tasting of the types of wines.
In the second day event, CCIT project staff attended the thematic workshop “Innovations in agri-food sector – the way towards sustainable transnational cooperation in Balkan-Mediterranean area” which was organized by CCI Vratsa in collaboration with ARED Vratsa within AGRA 2020. During the workshop, interested parties presented the state of art of agro-food sector in Bulgaria, the advantages and problems to be solved. At the completion of the workshop, CCIT project staff participated to mutual meetings with Bulgarian representatives from research, academia and companies and discussed on the possibility of cooperation together among which also on future common projects.
After the workshop, the 2nd day event proceeded with the visit to the University of Agribusiness and Rural Development, Bulgaria, hosted by the Rector Prof. Mariana Ivanova, and the Vice Rector Mrs. Patricia Georgieva. Prof. Ivanova, introduced in brief the Bulgarian University experience, projects implemented and under implementation in agro-food sector, mobility, education etc. During the meeting, CCIT along with the Agricultural University of Tirana, showed interest to cooperate with University of Agribusiness and Rural Development, Bulgaria, in agri-food future projects.
In the third day event, CCIT project staff attended the Conference for the Agri-food Sector and B2B Meetings within AGRA 2020. Both activities were very interesting on knowing the agri-food sector from the theoretical aspect due to research papers made and practical one from the companies activities. After these two activities, CCIT Project staff together with Bulgarian partners joined a Cultural Visit to Plovdiv City by visiting the main historical and cultural landmarks of the city.
