“Albania at work”, the employment strategy is presented at the Work & Study fair
On the second day of the IX edition of the Work & Study fair (March 29, 2018), was introduced the employment strategy “Albania at Work”. With the participation of the Minister of State for the Protection of Entrepreneurship, Mrs. Sonila Qato, the Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Lindita Nikolla, the Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Erion Veliaj, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tirana, Mr. Nikolin Jaka, members of parliament Anastas Angjeli and Ms. Milva Ekonomi was held the conference which aimed at not only presenting the strategy, but taking opinions from those who belonged to different fields. In a discussion that lasted more than two hours, were raised actual problems of the labor market and that they should be reflected in this strategy. During the discussion of the new employment draft with the interest groups, the Minister of State for the Protection of Entrepreneurship raised as a concern the fact that Albanian students are not prepared for the labor market. “I hardly identified to hire two lawyers, of whom only one of them managed to meet all the requirements and conditions that his office needed to hire,” Qato said. Business demanded that the politics should undertake concrete initiatives for the qualification of the labor force. “We must begin to believe that this place can be done, but giving up some non-visionary policies that are politics of figures and arithmetic,” said Jaka, among other things. While Minister of Education Lindita Nikolla said that the needs of the labor market suggest the addition of professional programs for students who graduate with an average 6. But Mayor ErjonVeliaj linked the level of unemployment with the culture of the Albanians. “This is clearly cultural and I believe that we in Tirana have a lot of this challenge,” said Veliaj among others. The new employment draft aims to bring all employment funds into one and give more power to local government.
